Several months ago, the site was moved to a new host and immediately we started to encounter problems - some scans became distorted, some menu options could not be accessed, some content was lost, and so on. Every attempt to rectify the problems seemed to end in frustration, and any attempt on my part to update database records only seemed to make the problem worse. Things have been stalled since January, and it's been very frustrating!!!

I am happy to report that we finally seem to have most of the problems solved. Further testing will be done before I get too confident but, I'm hoping to start adding new records to the databases soon, and plan to start posting new content in the very near future.

Stay tuned...there's plenty more to come....

During the weeks and months ahead, I hope to develop this blog into an integral part of the stampsofvictoria website. I plan to use it to pass along information that may be of interest to collectors and also to pose questions and puzzles about various philatelic issues that I am trying to resolve (or which have been brought to my attention).

It continues to amaze me how much remains to be learned about the stamps of Victoria and the postal history of that colony. When you consider that philatelic students have been examining and researching these issues for well over a century, you might conclude that everything of importance has been discovered and documented - but that is not the case. Certainly there is an impressive library of books, monographs and journal articles on many facets of the colony's stamp history, but there is still much being discovered and many unresolved puzzles remain for the students of the future.

I'm hoping this blog can become a forum for discussion and discovery on many of those topics. Please participate. Victoria is a fascinating area to collect and study, and there are many puzzles yet to be solved.

Happy collecting, Les Molnar
