Introduction

There is a significant library of published material on the stamps of Victoria, including many master works on specialized subject areas, and countless published articles on nearly every aspect of the colony’s illustrious philatelic past. The goal here is not to reproduce that literature, nor even to summarize it. Any attempt to do so, would be hopelessly inadequate.

Instead, the index of articles attached has a much more limited objective – to provide background that will help in an understanding of other aspects of this site, to provide a platform for publishing new information about various topics of interest, and to provide a opportunity to highlight areas of special interest to me.
